Jared Kaplan

Jared is the founder of BlueOak Talent, where he partners with venture capital and private equity firms on senior leadership searches. He places C-suite, VP, and Director-level Go-to-Market leaders for technology and tech-enabled services companies, and Field Operations leaders for B2B and B2C organizations.

He brings more than 20 years of executive search experience and hundreds of successful placements. Before founding BlueOak, he spent nearly 12 years as a Partner at True Search, where he was the 24th employee and helped build the firm's Go-to-Market practice. Prior to joining True Search, Jared spent 3.5 years at JM Search helping to build their venture technology practice. Earlier in his career, he founded JKO Consulting, a boutique executive search firm.

After spending two decades helping scale some of the largest retained search firms, Jared started BlueOak to do the work on his own terms: a deliberately small, highly personalized practice built on genuine partnership rather than transaction volume. He takes on a limited number of searches at a time so that every client works directly with him from first conversation through offer negotiation and acceptance.

Outside of work, Jared's favorite place to be is watching his kids in their element — cheering on his son at his basketball games and his daughter at her dance competitions. More than anything, he treasures simple time at home with his family.
